Vatika

Earth-friendly Farming, Empowering Lives

Our specially-abled farmers use organic practices to grow a variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers.

How We Began

In 2009, Vatika was established to provide meaningful employment for physically-able adults with severe mental challenges who could not be placed elsewhere.

Gardening and engaging with nature proved deeply therapeutic, and these young adults, after graduating from DARE School, found purpose in the expansive gardens of Srishti.

Guided by skilled gardeners, they learned to cultivate fruits and vegetables in an earth friendly, organic manner.

During the season, Vatika has won several awards at both the district and state levels for its excellence in gardening.

Where Gardens Bloom and Spirits Heal

In the expansive gardens and poly-houses of Srishti, our specially-abled farmers discover both purpose and healing.

Amidst blooming trees and vibrant flowers, they nurture a wide variety of fruits and vegetables.

More than a source of nourishment, these flourishing gardens are a sanctuary where the bond between people and the earth grows stronger every day.

Our farmers grow strawberries, zucchini, radish, carrots, green beans, cauliflower, beetroot, turmeric, peppers, celery, spinach and more…

From Farm to Table

The fruits and vegetables cultivated in Srishti’s gardens make their way directly to our canteen, nourishing 120 employees every day. Any surplus harvest is sold to Munnar’s local vegetable vendors.

To tend to the Earth is to tend to the self – it is nature’s quiet therapy, where hands in soil become hearts at rest.
